American Beach Foundation, Inc. (the “Foundation”) takes pride in the history of American Beach on Amelia Island, and its African-American heritage. The Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the historic, architectural and cultural attributes of American Beach. Through various initiatives, including educational programs and community events, the Foundation endeavors to promote awareness of American Beach’s significance to both African-Americans and Americans in general, and to seek support for the preservation of its natural beauty and architectural gems.

Formerly occupied as her private residence by MaVynee Betsch, better known as the “Beach Lady,” American Beach Inn will serve as a monument to American Beach’s most passionate advocate, as well as a quiet place to stay for visitors to the area. The Beach Lady’s undying love for American Beach, her connection to nature, and her passion for preserving the beauty of the Beach will live on in this historic property, which will be donated to the Foundation by its current owners. After scheduled renovations, the American Beach Inn will open to the public as a bed & breakfast.
